Spring can't get here soon enough...at least for everyone but our dog Olive! We are thankful for the snow because we know it will make for a beautiful spring...BUT we are definitely ready to see it go.

As recent southern transplants to Idaho, we are accustomed to mild winters. Last year saw an end to that and a cold hard introduction to living in the great northwest during the winter! What have we learned so far? Mainly (and most importantly), how to walk like a penguin so you don't end up flat on your back! Since we are located at an elevation of about 5300 feet, once the snow flies it typically doesn't leave until the end of March. As a southern girl used to 70-degree days in February that is an extremely long winter! But we are learning to make the best of the cold and have started enjoying some fun winter activities available right outside our back door. Snowmobiling thru Yellowstone National Park with the family was definitely a bucket list worth trip.

We have also used our free time working on updates to the restaurant. When we open on May 2nd, we will get to show off some of our recent work...new benches and tables in the dining room, a new guest check-in counter, fresh coat of paint on the walls and a new chalkboard wall for all of our summer specials. We are excited about an update dinner menu as well. Look for new specials and limited offerings each week that highlight our love for all things smoked and southern! We will also continue to feature local cuisine like elk and huckleberries as well local craft beer and wines! Keep checking back with us for more updates. We look forward to seeing you this spring!
